The NRR has built up a huge amount of experience in the

understanding of the pathological responses to wear

debris, particularly the condition ALVAL.

Our work, led by Dr Shonali Natu, has been published in some of the top orthopaedic and pathology journals.

Tissue specimens can be sent to us for expert opinion.

​

We are currently undertaking a study of the genetics underlying the host response to particles.
